Daily schedule

Splitboarding all day

Day 1 – Welcome In Romania!

On day 1 we get to know each other. Our team will wait for
you at the airport and bring you to Sinaia, at our Boarder’s Cottage accomodation. Here, depending on what you want to do, you can choose to visit the city or chill out in your room and preparing your equipment. Nevertheless we need to decide together the itineraries for the next days, so after lunch, time for a brief briefing!

Day 2 – Piatra Mare Mountains

After we check the weather forecast , we start our trip towards Prahova Valley, to get to Piatra Mare plateau, situated at an altitude of 1800m. We will reach the plateau by our human powers. We put our splitboards on and start the walk to Piatra Mare chalet, which will be our firs stop. We’ll have lunch and then after more 45 minutes of ascent, we’ll reach the staring point for our first ride. Depending of the general condition of the group we can do 2 or more descents.

Day 3 – Ciucas Mountains – 410m Downhill / 350m Uphill

Ciucaș is the mountain where you will always find good snow and safe places with no risk of avalanche. The climbs are smooth and in a good day you can make up to 4-5 descents. The highest peak is at an elevation of 1.954m and from the main ridge you can choose between the south side, or the north sided faces.

Day 4 – Sinaia Freeride Arena – 710m Downhill / 690m Uphill

Bucegi Mountains – We change the mountain but keep the snow. The options are endless, we suggest multiple ascents up to 2.200m altitude and descents to diferent valleys of Bugegi Natural Park, sometimes using the cable car options for more riding. We’ll have lunch at Padina Challet followed by the last ascent and downhill ride back to Sinaia.

Day 5 – Baiului Mountains, Azuga Resort – 1190m Downhill / 490m Uphill

Azuga Resort backcountry lines and Baiului mountains ridges are a wonderfull option for the following day. As we said, the riding options are countless. We suggest a ride in which endurance and adrenalin go hand in hand. Going up with the gondola followed by the splitboard, the ascent to the ridge will make you gladly look forward to the downhill and folowed by tre runs that will end up to Sinaia.

Day 6 – Balea Freeride Arena

We will move our accommodation 200 km away on the Fagaras mountains, at Balea Lake Chalet, located at 2000 m altitude, place with one of the best high alpine and snow climate in Romania and hope that the sun will also accompany us. The view is awesome, Făgăraș mountains full of snow are spectacular. You’ll enjoy a stunning wild alpine panorama and the ridge will make you feel like you’re on top of the world and we assure you that the descent is long and exciting. Similar with the last days, depending on how you feel, we can go for one or more rides combining also the cablecar facilities. Taking into account that the area is wilder, we should pack more supplies with us: tea, biscuits and chocolate are recommended.

Day 7 – Departure day – airport transfer

Depending on your flight departure and on the snow conditions we will ride down Bâlea Valley, then airport transfer and … and thanks for coming and hope to see you soon again!

Marius Stratila

Certified mountain guide & ISIA Snowboard Instructor

“Splitboarding and enduro biking are part of me, they define who I am. For me, they are more than just a way to escape crowded and overused resorts. They are a way to push limits and get out of the comfort zone, a way to explore and to discover. That perfect mix of silence and grandeur that only a mountain can offer, the freedom to climb on your own, to define your route and follow it, the power to use your body strength to move forward and to enjoy downhill rides and fresh turns, no matter what season is out there – this is what defines me and what I want to share. The path is the same, only the texture is different.”
